Travel

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL THAT YOU'RE MAKING THE TRIP TO ST AUGUSTINE!

St Augustine is a great little town, and we know that you'll enjoy visiting! It's where we spent our first Valentine's Day together, which is when we declared that if we ever got married, this would be the place!

For those who are flying, the nearest Airport is Jacksonville, which is about a fifty minute drive to St Augustine. Orlando is about an hour and forty-five minutes away. The only place to get low fares on Southwest is southwest.com, as they do not advertise on other sites. The best way to get from the airport to St Augustine is to rent a car, which is usually quite affordable. We recommend Priceline or Kayak to find the best car rental deals. Have we told you lately that we love you?

Accommodations

WE HOPE THAT YOU'LL CONSIDER STAYING FOR A WHILE.

We'd love to have our friends and family in town for longer than just a day or two, if at all possible. We plan to be in St. Augustine the week leading up to the wedding, and hope that others will join us.

There are many options for lodging in St. Augustine; bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals, hotels, etc. First, there are two main areas that we recommend choosing between depending on the length of your stay and your preferences.

ST AUGUSTINE BEACH

Able to stay a bit longer than a couple days? Love the beach? Planning to have a car? Have a group to stay with? You may like to stay at St. Augustine Beach, which is only a ten minute drive from the downtown area. Accommodations here include hotels and vacation rentals. There are a few bars and restaurants beachside.

DOWNTOWN

This is where all of the attractions are; lots of history, bars, museums, shopping, restaurants, you name it. This area is little over a mile south of our venue. Hotels a little further from the downtown area tend to offer lower prices, so getting a hotel closer to our wedding venue could be a more affordable but still convenient option. Accommodations in the downtown area include mainly Bed & Breakfasts and hotels.

DANIEL AND JASMINE:
We will be staying in the heart of the downtown area the night of our wedding. The Monday-Thursday leading up to the wedding (May 25– May 28), we plan to stay on the beachside.

BEACHSIDE RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Check out Trip Advisor or vrbo for a variety of vacation rentals, particularly if you have a group!
  • We have blocked rooms at Castillo Real, which is a nice hotel we’ve stayed in, and one of the more affordable options. Rooms are $149/night with queen and king options, free parking, WiFi, pool, and on the ocean side. Block is under the Wanek/Fox wedding party, cutoff date is March 29.
  • We have blocked rooms at The Best Western Seaside Inn. Rooms are $129/night for Fri/Sat ($85 weekdays) and include two queen beds. Amenities include free parking, wifi, breakfast, pool and hot tub. This hotel is across the street from Castillo Real and the ocean. Block is under Wanek Fox Wedding, cutoff date is May 1.

  • We have blocked rooms at the Doubletree by Hilton St Augustine Historic District at $219/night. Please visit http://bit.ly/1zss2H4 to make reservations under the room block. Amenities include a warm cookie, pool, fitness center, restaurant, free parking & wifi. 6 minute walk to our venue, 10 min walk to downtown. Cutoff date is March 29.
  • Comfort Suites Downtown and Best Western Spanish Quarter Inn are both newly renovated inside, more affordable, and are a 10 minute walk from the venue and a 5 minute walk to downtown. Comfort Suites is offering a 15% discount for us, under “Fox wedding”.
  • We have rooms blocked at Southern Oaks Inn for $109/night, which is 1.3 mi to venue, 2 mi to downtown. Amenities include full hot breakfast, pet-friendly, pool, and newly renovated rooms. Room block is under “Fox wedding party” available until April 23.
  • There are MANY amazing bed & breakfasts downtown (check Trip Advisor)! I encourage you to consider this as option!
  • If you’re looking to splurge, the Hilton St Augustine Historic Bayfront and the Casa Monica are our recommendations.
  • If you’re looking to do the opposite of splurge, there is a really cool “budget inn” (nice hostel) in the heart of downtown called Pirate Haus Inn. They make you pancakes in the morning!
  • There are also several historical “boutique” hotel options to choose from. Visit hotels.com or expedia.com. Make sure to look at the map view to assure you’re where you want to be. There are also great places to camp nearby. If you have questions, PLEASE ask!
